Embedded youtube player not working November 4, 2008 7:51 AM Subscribe
Using FF3.0.3 on OSX 10.5.5 with Shockwave 10.0r12, the embedded youtube player redirects me to an error page that says:

Do you have it configured for Flash video to open in the same window? When I try opening those links in a new tab I get that result.

Do I have what configured? Mefi? I assume so, since until flash 10 it worked. If you mean the player, I have no idea how I'd go about it.
I'll try upgrading, however. Might solve it.

It's worth noting that the videos play just fine if I click through to Youtube.

(Back after re-installing)
Nope. Still get the same page. However, I did a bit more investigating; this is a side effect of a greasemonkey script: Grumblebee's Show-Metafilter-Profile-Pic script.
Which I'll disable, but I suppose I should drop him a MeMail to let him know there's an issue.

Just in case anyone wonders, it's the video in this comment he's talking about.

I get the same message and I'm not running Greasemonkey at all. Same operating system and browser as ChrisR. I just installed the new Flash player as well and still nothing. And it happens to all Youtube clips that I attempt play through Mefi, not just the one Plutor linked to. Anyone hope me?

Maybe reinstall the latest Flash player? Sounds like you are some reversions behind.
