I'm watching a heavy power cable slowly slide across and off a table under its own weight, dragging a pile of torn-out notepapers and Stickies along with it to the floor. It would be easy to stop, but I've got a paczki in my grabbing hand and a cup of coffee in the other and I'd hate to have to put one of them down, wipe off my fingers, and reposition things on the desktop.
