I'm trying to figure out why plexi's gender makes any difference as to the significance of the Gang Bang reference/photo...

"Gang bang" is less serious than "gang rape." You can tell two ways: it is a rhyme and it doesn't have the word "rape" in it.

One problem is that a consensual gang bang isn't a good analogy for a MeTa pile-on.
When someone organizes a gang bang, they are consenting, at least in principle, to being fucked by multiple people.
When someone posts a rather benign question ('how do I find my deleted posts?') to MetaTalk, they aren't consenting to being ravaged or even expecting to be ravaged by a mob on a tangential issue (impending 'lol plexi posts suck' pile-on).

However, it has a different meaning for others, hence why I find it distasteful. I get that gang bang and gang rape are two technically different things. In the early 90's the only time I ever heard 'gang bang' was in the context of rape or forced sex. Now it seems to be a completely separate concept. However, I get that for some people it might still be semantically overloaded (or seminally overloaded).
