Black on the outside, followed by green, but deep inside he's white as snow.

And this also...has been one of the dark pickles of the earth.

On further reading: A user named Chocolate Pickle made the first comment, asking why said post was a good Metafilter post. The joke based on the username went on from there.

What's the story behind Chocolate Pickle?

Oh, I know the answer: It was Mayor Nagin's euphemism for Hurricane Katrina.

He's just a wiseguy snooping around asking too many questions. Make no mistake, he'll find his chocolate in a pickle one of these days.

As gman points out in that thread, Chocalte Pickle has the annoying propensity of dropping the "Why is this a good Metafilter post?" turd in many threads on a regular basis.

Crush Velvet was a pivotal band on the 1970’s Milwaukee punk scene. They had two successful U.S. tours with labelmates Agnostic Front and The Dypshytz, a period that is still considered the high-watermark of midwestern white-boy angst.

After that they “sold out” and switched their sound to down-tempo, then drum-and-bass, then grindcore, back to punk, back to down-tempo, then into a brief flirtation with reggae and dancehall, all before ending up in their current incarnation: a lounge band called The Shypdytz (featuring the lone surviving member of The Dypshytz).

A tapir is a large browsing mammal, roughly pig-like in shape, with a short, prehensile snout. Tapirs inhabit jungle and forest regions of South America, Central America, and Southeast Asia. All four species of tapir are classified as endangered or vulnerable. Their closest relatives are the other odd-toed ungulates, including horses and rhinoceroses. Size varies between types, but most tapirs are about 2 meters (7 ft) long, stand about a meter (3 ft) high at the shoulder, and weigh between 150 and 300 kg (330 to 700 lb). Coats are short and range in color from reddish-brown to grey to nearly black, with the notable exceptions of the Malayan Tapir, which has a white saddle-shaped marking on its back, and the Mountain Tapir, which has longer, woolly fur. All tapirs have oval, white-tipped ears, rounded, protruding rumps with stubby tails, and splayed, hoofed toes, with four toes on the front feet and three on the hind feet, which help them walk on muddy and soft ground. Baby tapirs of all types have striped-and-spotted coats for camouflage. Females have a single pair of mammary glands. The proboscis of the tapir is a highly flexible structure, able to move in all directions, allowing the animals to grab foliage that would otherwise be out of reach. Tapirs often exhibit the flehmen response, a posture in which they raise their snouts and show their teeth, in order to detect scents. This response is frequently exhibited by bulls sniffing for signs of other males or females in oestrus in the area. Proboscis length varies among species; Malayan Tapirs have the longest snouts and Brazilian Tapirs have the shortest.

Bugger. Now that I think about it.... I bet a nice, crisp, cold dill pickle coated in a layer of dark chocolate then rolled in unsweetened cocoa powder would be AMAZING. I will be thinking about it all day. That is all.
Not pregnant, I swear.

The Malayan Tapir tastes like chocolate, whereas the Mountain Tapir tastes like pickles.

My name is not important. The answer is 'Ghostbusters 2.'

Why does that make me laugh every single time?

Don't answer that.

This basically comes down to "whose brand new day is this?", which isn't really a great idea for a Metatalk thread in general, so I'm gonna go ahead and close this up.
