Since it’s been so long since the last SF meet up, let’s have another one on Saturday the 20th.
Rhapsodie will be visiting that week. Let's do a Saturday meetup instead of the usual Friday (which means gryftir can stick around longer).

If we have the meetup on the earlyish side, I can make it. I have to be in the Mission by 7:45.

I have no idea where this place is (or any place, since I've only been in SF for ~1 week), or who anyone is (I prefer to lurk), but that just makes things more fun, right?
So I'll probably be there, though any hints for finding the group once I'm there would help.

The Edinburgh Castle is on Geary between Polk and Larkin. You can get there on the 38 Geary, the 19 Polk, or catch one of the Van Ness buses (49, 47) and get off at Geary and walk over. If you're BARTing, get off at Civic Center and walk up Larkin.
I'll try to remember to bring some shoutout sheets, so look for those on the table. Otherwise, radicarian, just do what everyone else does: peer carefully at each group of people (it's usually pretty dark in the Castle) and try to determine if they look like mefites. If you're not sure, say "Are you from Metafilter?" or "Are you a friend of Matt's?" You're pretty safe just picking the geekiest looking bunch, though. There are really only two tables large enough to hold a group of our anticipated size, so check those out first.

Meeting up in San Jose last week made me realize that it's been a long time since I've seen all my SF people. But since I'm out of town this weekend, I might have to wait for the 10th anniversary to see y'all.
Also, I would be so down with an East bay meetup. However, I realize that I flaked out on one that I myself suggested (at Zachary's). So for compensation I'd be willing to splurge on a pie or a couple pitchers of beer. Just something to keep in mind.

Also, if anyone is interested I'm probably going to an all-night dance party with a big ass soundsystem after the meetup. The cover is $5, but it's a benefit for something or other.
I will be happy to provide a public transport guide and escort there or directions and a voicemail # - but I'm probably staying until it's over to help with the cleanup. Depending on when our meetup is over, I might also head there early to help set up, but I'm playing that by beer... i mean ear.
Cabs and owl-line MUNI routes are nearby, though.

I think we're meeting at 6 although a couple of people might get there around 5. I hope to be there by 530. If you get there first, grab the largest table (or two if you can). We might have around 25 people.
