Is it me or does Cortex totally look like rockin' Jesus in that NYT picture?

I super like the blue shirts and will definitely plan to get one if budget allows.

How about bringing back the blue maternity t-shirts with the "[more inside]" across the belly? I think you last had them circa 2004/2005 or so...?

Those were green Cafepress shirts, but I killed my cafepress account because I wasn't happy with the temporary nature of their printing.

Conicidentally, Cortex and I were talking at 10.1 and we decided that we need a future run of [more inside] in AskMe green...

I found that I really liked the new grey shirts when I saw several people wearing them at the 10th meetups! The color, style, font is really nice! However, I was wondering if you were going to be offering any shirts with different taglines than what's currently available? I really want one of these new shirts, but of the four taglines, 3 of them are somewhat snarky and/or inside baseball-ish (for a t-shirt, IMHO), and the 4th could be misinterpreted as hug-offering (which on most days I'm happy to give, so no biggie really). Thinking of getting the 'Everybody needs a hug' shirt anyway, but just curious if other tagline shirts may be available in the future?

Other possibilities perhaps (yes I realize that some of these are inside baseball-ish too.)...

No words for the beanplating one - just a picture of a plate of beans in a thought balloon.

Personally, I'd love a shirt in blue or grey with a great big GRAR on it.

I really want a shirt so if all your mefites could band together and do whatever it is people do to make the exchange rate go up that'd be great thanks. Right now my NZ funnymoney isn't worth enough of the real stuff.

I covet a shirt that says "Use your words" and am much too scared to wear one that may be construed as hug offering.

I'd totally spring for a blue and yellow Team Metafilter cycling shirt.

I tend to wear my oversized "Everyone needs a hug" shirt as an undershirt, as I tend to wear big men's button-down shirts as part of my work uniform, as a private joke to myself, or as a fabulous sleep-shirt, since it's so darned soft.

I've been seriously contemplating getting a woman's "tl;dr" shirt to wear at work, but I kind of don't want to out myself as a metafilter person at work at the moment. Too many new freshmen right now, and I don't want to add clueless users by advertising in my lab. I do love the tl;dr sentiment for my current work attitude. Yeah, yeah, just show me your problem already, kid.

I do like the GRAR idea. That puts a big happy smile on my face, if that counts for anything.

This seems like as good a place as any to complain about it...

Please join me in flagging "tl;dr" comments as noise. I'm not too surprised to see it on Fark or Reddit, but it really seems out of place here, and sets a poor tone for the discussion. If you don't have the attention span to read a deep, engaging story, there's nothing to talk about – you haven't read it.

The T-shirt, on the other hand, is pretty awesome (in a Meta way).

Any chance we're going to get more Special Snowflake shirts? I need to proclaim my inherent and obvious uniqueness, and a tshirt is the best way to do that.

Definitely going to get a blue shirt as well.

I got a blue one at PDX 10th. I like my grey one too. It's a special snowflake one and someone recently asked me if it was a shirt for a ski resort, which made me laugh.

That picture in the NYT is so great - I'd completely forgotten about it. If I didn't know you, I'd think you were a bunch of weirdos, but since I've met you all, I know for a fact that you're a bunch of weirdos. This is good.

knave: "Please join me in flagging "tl;dr" comments as noise. I'm not too surprised to see it on Fark or Reddit, but it really seems out of place here, and sets a poor tone for the discussion."

Is there really a lot of tl;dring going around? Either I've never seen it or it must get deleted really fast. The only times I've actually seen that used (and I'll admit to using it myself in this way) is to summarize a long post in a pithy way, at the end. Used like that, it has a sort of tongue-in-cheek feel, since you're likely to encounter it only after reading the whole thing...

I was wearing my tl;dr shirt one day at work and had people ask me why I was wearing "a 4chan shirt" (the back was covered because I had another shirt on over it). I don't know if that would scare anyone else away from wearing it, but you might want to keep in mind that some people may think you're being way edgier than you are.

Kadin2048: I don't think it's common, and it may be premature to complain about (I didn't even think it's worth starting a MeTa thread about it). But it is happening occasionally here, and I hope it's not the start of a trend (link1, link2, link3, the list goes on...).

However, I agree with you about the jokey usage, and have no problem with it.

My 'Special Snowflake' T-shirt is all kinds of awesome. The XL shrank down to a L perfectly, and it's a softer T than American Apparel.

I have a love-hate relationship with my tl;dr shirt. I love the color and the fit, and of course I love reppin' MeFi, but I get so many questions about it that it gets pretty bothersome.

"What does that mean?"
"Oh, it's a sort of obscure internet reference."
"Oh yeah?"
"Yeah, it means, too long; didn't read."
(Blank stare)
"Like, a snarky thing to say to a long post of some sort."
"I see."

Datapoint for fellow butter eaters: The 3x shirt, at least, is much more generously sized than American Apparel's counterpart. It's also very long -- I'm 5'10" and it comes down to midthigh on me. Neither of these are complaints.
