DENVER! I have cortex here. We [read: I] have been infernally lazy about organization; I can only hope that all of you haven't forgotten by now. MEETUP TOMORROW NIGHT, CHAPS!

The consensus last we discussed this was, as I recall, PS Lounge on East Colfax near Colorado Boulevard. This fine, quirky little joint has pool tables, an adjoining pizza shop, interesting character, and enough room on a Tuesday night to accommodate.

Does this still work?

& a note here to my friend mustard seeds, who will be joining us for the first time as she's just moved to Boulder, and who was kind enough to call and wonder on Friday why there hadn't been a thread yet: I'm so sorry; I totally blanked on posting this until cortex got here. Ah well - I still believe we're all ton board, right folks?

I have cortex here.

Well, crap. How do we get him back?

Is he there against his will? Is this a ransom note?

If he flew into Denver he probably flew right over my mother-in-law's place.

PS Lounge is a totally sweet place, and like I said before, you're doing yourself a disservice if you don't get a sugar steak from Bastien's. They make fantastic steaks and cheap. Look at this map and see how close you'll be.

I'm still in Avon, NC. So, you know... I'll be there in spirit, if not in person.
posted by boo_radley at 6:09 PM on October 5, 2009

Yeah, that Bastien's sugar steak is worth it.

This is worrisome... is anybody out there? Or do you all just check mefi at work?

I'll email people later tonight.

I'll be there. I had an old email list, too--I'll see if I can dig that up. What time are we talking about?
posted by fieldtrip at 6:46 PM on October 5, 2009

8:00 seems to be the consensus so far.

That is right by my office...what time??

Oh 8. I will be long gone by then :)

Will certainly be there! Peachfuzz and I _may_ even be heading down early on Tuesday. If there are any pre meetup, meetup plans.
posted by -t at 7:38 PM on October 5, 2009

I'm still aiming to be there. I was shooting for 7pm, but could be later than that. I'll need food, but I hear that Enzo's is next door from the other thread.
posted by dr. fresh at 8:25 PM on October 5, 2009

If I could read, I'd see that we're meeting at 8pm.
posted by dr. fresh at 8:26 PM on October 5, 2009

Maybe pre-meetup at 7pm at Enzo's for pizza?

Well, since she doesn't know her way around, mustard seeds is coming straight to my place and we're heading over to PS together. If anybody wants, we can congregate here. The only trouble is that I'm sort on on the west side (near Sheridan and 25th) and PS is obviously east.

(but it's not very far - probably 15 minutes' drive from my place to ps)

Just saw fieldtrip's note in the old thread. OK. I'm in. We have a small attendance list so far it seems:

Koeshshshelitz, fieldtrip, dr fresh, -t, peachfuzz, nailsthecat

plus the guest of honor of course.

Does anyone have the inclination to mefi-mail the attendees of the last meet-up? I would do but I've a stack of work to get through before 8.30am. I can give it a stab tomorrow perhaps.

Looking forward to seeing y'all even if there's just a few of us. I'll try and get there by 7 for pizza if I can.

the internet moderator would follow him around, and use his jewels for mefi prime time.

of this he was convinced.

NailsTheCat: Does anyone have the inclination to mefi-mail the attendees of the last meet-up?

I will. It sounds like there are enough people who'd like to eat that we may as well make it at 7:00. (The great thing about Enzo's and PS is that they're not just next door, they share a corridor inside, and they're cool with people bringing pizza back and forth, and have even been known to bring it over to you when it's done if you ask nice.)

So I'll send out MeMails (and duplicate emails to all who have emails in profile) to this effect: the plan is to meet at Enzo's End Pizza, 3424 E Colfax Ave, at 7:00 PM.

See everybody there!

Indeed.

I spent yesterday hiding in koeselitz's guest room feeling sick (with the same achey-and-sore-throat-and-blah symptoms as several Chicagoans have reported at the same time), but I'm willing my immune system to rally today and intend to be in a happy and sociable state this evening even if it kills me.

It's not like you'd be dead longer than three days anyway.

I should be able to make it. Cortex, get sociable.

Ah, the old P&S lounge. If you say P&S fast, people often misunderstand.

Anyway, I'd love to join in but I live in Bozeman now. (My MeFi profile says there is only one other user here, which would make it easy to find a table big enough for a meetup, I guess.)

Enzos is closed. Fieldtrip and I are outside an empty ps lounge waiting for more folks.

Well damn! We're running a few minutes late, heading out now, guess we'll see you at P&S!

Well, that was fun. I hope everyone made it home okay. My bike ride was crisp and invigorating. Cortex thanks for visiting us!

My (few, blurryish) photos are up; since the previous thread was the canonical meetup thread for this, that's where the "add photos" box is so I've stuck the link up over there.

Great to see you all again, and the new faces. Have a safe trip back Cortex.

fieldtrip--glad you made it back ok. BTW, I took the bus home. Yes, that is quite impressive I know, thank you.

Oh man, yeah, I kind of want to tell the world that we had at the meetup the Last Man in Europe Who Hadn't Seen Keyboard Cat. That this was your first meetup and that you had that rare sweetness corrupted can't be just coincidence, Scientifik. We have ruined you.

WHY??!! did this have to happen while I was not just across the state but also halfway up a mountain??

on the plus side, who knew KOA had fast internet? I am posting this from a sleeping bag, in a tent, miles from civilization!

In my defense RE: Keyboard Cat, judging from the date stamps of those posts I was in Laos when this meme was breaking. However yesterday I did get caught up and caught the Hal and Oates one on Funny Or Die. Quite good.

Laosy: brilliant
Quite good: Quite good!? Understatement of the year. That's like describing Neil Armstrong's moonwalk as a jolly nice weekend break.
