how did I get here? October 13, 2009 11:19 PM   Subscribe

ProbablyReallyObvious Filter: While perusing the MetaFilter front page, I clicked something that led me to this extremely useful two column layout of popularly favorited comments and links. What did I click on?

You clicked on 'Popular' - in the first menu below the horizontal bar.

Yep, the popular page, determined by the number of favorites.

If you like RSS and don't want to follow all of MeFi via RSS, the feed for popular posts and comments are both great feeds to follow, from that page. It's a good best of the best digest of MeFi-land.

Go easy on your palm! And your face!

Metafilter is a many-splendored labyrinth. Why, it was only a day or so ago when I discovered the "export comments" feature - quite by accident, just like your discovery of the Popular page.

You are in a maze of twisty little arguments, all alike.

Did you know there is an entirely different Metafilter? For asking questions?

A flagged link would be fun, so you could see it in real time before it gets deleted.

Do you really want to continue the bloodshed that has marred our life for years? Maybe you should reflect on your reasons about why you feel this way, it's a little disgusting to be honest.

> Thank you, setanor, I had no idea that this was different than the Popular Favorites tab.

Good lord, there are tabs! How does this happen to me? And I was appalled that someone had to actually mention the time/date in the upper-right portion of the page for me to notice it (much smaller font) (heh).

It's a wonder I make it across the street each day without getting run down by a bus.

Whatever this line is called, it's slightly different for each sub-site. Any explanation why, even though they exist, there are no links to the "Popular Tags" page for Meta Talk or the podcast? Are we to be protected from the evils of choosing a random podcast?
