Odd flagging menu behaviour with Chromium October 18, 2009 1:53 AM   Subscribe

Possible bug with Chrome/Chromium in flagging UI.

I've been using Chromium (Linux port of Chrome) a lot recently (and like it) but have noticed an odd behaviour when flagging on Metafilter.

The issue is that if I click on the [!] the menu appears as one line, and if I then click on the menu, it disappears again.

I can use the down arrow key to scroll down the menu and the Enter key to select an item, so it's still functional, but far from usable.

This might actually be a Chromium bug but I thought I'd better report it just in case. I haven't noticed any similar issues with select widgets on other sites so it seems to be something specific to Metafilter.

That's a beta, so they don't support it.

Don't feel bad, happened to me :p

Same issue on Windows (using 4.0.222.12). Also looks like I automatically flagged your post just by clicking the [!].

Is Chrome for Mac at all usable yet?

There are problems with bookmarking, and all Chrome versions are RSS stupid, but it's definitely fast and renders pages nearly perfectly. This flagging bug is the only problem I've had with the browser so far.

I'm really excited for the browser becoming feature complete.

I use it pretty much exclusively. It mostly has issues with flash problems, but it doesn't crash or hang. The worst thing that ever happens is i have to refresh a tab to reload flash when flash crashes (which is often, with all my browsers).

Windows XP with Chrome 3.0.197.27 (Beta Channel) has no problem flagging your post as "other". Sorry mods for the extra attention.
