MeFi Mall page for this year's holiday shopping? November 18, 2009 9:19 PM   Subscribe

MeFi Mall page for this year's holiday shopping?

As far as I can tell (which isn't actually that far), the MeFiMall hasn't been updated since the last holiday season. Is this correct? I'd love to be able to check out MeFite stores, and would be happy to help with any of the work involved with collecting links/descriptions.

Yep, good idea, I'll start the new page tomorrow.

I hope this is related enough to post here, but does anyone remember the name of the female user who runs a co-located webhost and Wordpress design service aimed at artists? She talks about the company in her profile.

Fabulous!

My details are the same as the last 2 years. Hopefully I'll get productive and have Gift Vouchers available for purchase via my website prior to this Christmas.

Thanks to the awesome Gomichild for my website, BTW!

I still have bike stickers for sale, including the famous Metabiker design.

Dear Santa Mefite;
I have been very good this year. I have kept my SLYT posts to a minimum - only posting them when they were really funny, or only at midnight when they were really offensive and I wanted to try to slide them past the mods... I have kept my snark to reasonable levels, my skepticism hidden behind sarcastic contempt, and my rabid defense of liberal ideas hidden behind statements extolling tolerance and inclusion - except for idiots like Glen Beck.

For Christmas ehm Hanukkah emh Quanza ehm... eh, I'm not sure of where your political correctness now sides... so I'll say "the holiday season" (as an added bonus using this phrase should tick off some religious groups - that should make you happy), I would like an ePony for ePony rides and an engraved saddle with "MeFi-ePony" (96 point Helvetica font - none of that Arial crap.) embroidered on it.

As per our usual agreement, I will leave out a beer for the lolcats and a plate of beans for you.

Your faithful Mefite;
-NtD

I've always thought it would be neat to sell some of my photography, but I'm not really set up with any of that fancy e-commerce stuff.

Word of warning: last time Meatbomb spun my chakra wheel, he lingered a bit to long on my sacral chakra causing my kundalini to jump the tracks.

I talked to pb and the gang and we're building a back end to make it a little simpler to admin this time around so I'll announce the "send us your stores" MeTa tomorrow or this weekend. Thanks for the nudge lalex.

Just so that I understand: this is a holiday page dedicated to allowing people to self-link things they're selling?

That is indeed the idea. Like a crazy mefi-centric holiday etsy.

Yes! Basically you send us information about

1. your username [this is for MeFites only, anyone else needs to get an account, no exceptions]
2. a place people can buy what you are selling ONLINE [needs to be online, this is not "please come by the widget store..."]

I'll make a post tomorrow about it. We had a nice page last year and we're hoping for an even better one this year.

Weird, I was going to mpost this exact question this morning, but got sidetracked. Glad to see that there will indeed be a 2009 version.

Chyskhaan, Lord of the Cold and Santa Claus are getting your presents ready.

Dear Santa:

Please do not bring me presents this year.

Instead, please purchase food with that money, and then donate it to the local food bank.

Thank you,
FFFish.
