Ok! Not that we're hurting for NYC meetups or anything, but what do you guys say about meeting in Williamsburg for an evening at:
*Pies 'n' Thighs (FRY CHICKEN! Yes, they have veggie stuff. Don't look at me like that.)
*Barcade (Beer, beer, BEER, and ye olde arcade games.)
Pertaining to date and time, I'm easy. You kids can fight it out.

hermitosis, yeah, I kind of did that on purpose, because any date I'd throw out there would be literally arbitrary. And if someone had a hard-line date, I wouldn't want them to be all sad face about it. :)
Tomorrow seems "maybe kinda sorta" with ya'll folk, but I'd be down if someone wants to say, "YES, TOMORROW, AT 7!"
But if you want a (refutable) date, I suggest Saturday, May 22nd. That's not this weekend, but next.

(Early dinner, I know. But that place gets batshit soon after, which will render getting a table for ten-sh nearly impossible.)
Want to partake in some pies and some thighs? I say first 10 people get the seats, because it's doubtful the tiny restaurant can accommodate much more than that at a single table. (Of course, overflow is welcome to sit at the table. right. next. to. us.)

I figure we'll be over there fairly early, considering dinner is at 7. I mean, Williamsburg is notorious for a lot of things, but not being early to anything– including bars.

I haven't been to a meetup since 2004, but if you're considering my local (barcade), that's hard to ignore.
I haven't been to pies and thighs, but the current incarnation looks like a smallish restaurant, so consider a crawl from there to barcade after dinner (just a thought)
As for barcade, the crowded-ness seems to depend somewhat on the weather and somewhat on the vague hipster whim that I am not attuned to. I have been there on Saturdays when it's inexplicably packed, and equally inexplicably vacant.
Also here's an insiders tip if you haven't been to barcade before. Consider reading the menu on-line beforehand, and have a basic idea of what style of beer you like, it's possible they may not have anything you get regularly and that's a good thing. Or fling caution to the wind and choose at random. Hard to go wrong, really.

The G goes to Lorimer/Metropolitan, so you can still got to Barcade. Also: never, ever rely on mta.info for anything. Seriously. The F train was been running on a shuttle bus between Church and Jay for two weekends, mta.info had nothin. The N was running on the D between Stillwell and 36th st. mta.info had, you guessed it, nothin'. I can't even find a logic or reason for the stuff they do and don't publish. /rant, inhale, exhale, inhale, exhale.

That was fun!
I have to admit Barcade is a bit loud and crowded side after 11:30,
but it was very nice to match screen names to real folks.
( I got much better at Moon Patrol and we got to see some hipster girl try to convince to doorman that since they allow dogs, they should allow shoulder perching parrots as well. Not sure how that one turned out.)

Also weird that our table got roped into parrot-sitting. I half-considered kidnapping the poor thing, because what owner uses a pet to Make An Entrance and then abandons it in a kennel with drunk strangers? Then I remembered that I fucking hate birds.
