Brooklyn Birthday Meetup June 16, 2010 7:48 AM Subscribe
WHEREAS, it has been far too long since I've been to a Brooklyn meetup; and
WHEREAS, my birthday is coming, and I want to celebrate with y'all;
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that we're going to have a meetup at 7pm on Tuesday, June 22nd at the 4th Avenue Pub in Brooklyn.
On my actual birthday (the 28th) I'm going to be in DC (and meeting up there), but celebrating a week early won't hurt.

These things usually run pretty late. I'll probably be leaving around 11 or so.

I'm in. Does the pub serve any kind of food, or can I get something to go from nearby, or should I plan to eat something in Manhattan beforehand? Beer+empty stomach = oh no! for oh yeah!

Bar doesn't have food. But Brooklyn bars like Manhattan bars have menu folders with nearby restaurants.

My old physics teacher's got a photo exhibit opening that evening, so I'll stop by after that. Having two things to do in Brooklyn almost makes it worth the ungodly slog there and back. (Though according to google, it's going to take as long to get there from Times Square as it will to get back to Washington Heights from Brooklyn. I don't understand how this doesn't somehow violate causality.)

There is a great little sandwich shop called the Canteen across the street from the bar, and the bar has a popcorn maker. EVERYTHING WILL BE FINE. BREATHE.
