11th Anniversary Meetup

This July 17th, in Portland, OR, is going to be an 11th Anniversary Meetup. Be here or be square.

Location: Green Dragon
928 Southeast 9th Avenue

Time: July 17th, 6pm onward.
Side attraction: prior to the meetup, there may be a tour of Integrity Spirits.

We will be negotiating some sort of sponsored-by-Metafilter beer tickets / food, so please chime in here if you are planning to attend so we can get a count (hopefully we will have a better tally system soon).

Dammit, I'll be landing at the Portland airport late that afternoon with wife & 2 kids in tow, & driving straight to my dad's in Gaston.

I don't think it'd play out too well if I bailed from my family vacation for a meetup in the first hour -- but it doesn't mean I don't wish I could.

I am not the president of Metafilter yet, but I think I speak for everyone when I say that if you're slumming around in Metatalk then you've well cleared the bar already. The criteria, as I understand it, is:

☑ you are on metafilter
☑ you want to drink beer with other people who are on metafilter

So I say c'mon the hell down. This is going to be a really good time.

Are you sure gigfilter will be up and running that soon? I kind of got the impression it was more of a "in the works, maybe sometime this year" type of thing. Maybe there should be memail rsvps for a headcount?

This is a rudimentary google doc that everyone has edit access rights to, as an interim step.

I've heard from voices on high that gigfilter or something should be available otherwise, but we can use this in the interim.
