ISO Beijing MeFites. Must have big thirst.

Anyone up for a meet-up sometime before July 1, maybe Thurs June 24 or Tues June 29? Open for suggestions on location -- NLGX or thereabouts?

I'm here studying until August, but I don't know anything about the city! I'm in Wudaokou and would love to meet some Mefites.

There's a place called Alba on Gulou Dong Dajie (鼓楼东大街) a few metres east of the northern entrance to NLGX. It has a pleasant roof terrace; drinks are cheap(ish) and they do food if anyone wants. It has wifi and they don't mind me taking my dog. Various other places only a short stumble away.
Saw bokane yesterday and sure he'll be along too.

I'd just like to say I'm very upset I'm missing this--I'll be arriving in Beijing for a trip on the 1st and this could have been my first meetup! Oh well, maybe another time.

And meet we did - hawkeye and so much modern time were delightful company, and various interlopers and canines made up he numbers on a soupy night in downtown Beijing.
