MetaFilter parodies December 30, 2010 11:50 AM   Subscribe

Is the Spoonfed MetaMetaFilter parody online? The "rescued" link to kineticmuse at mssv.net no longer works. I'd also love to see other parodies.

Semi-serious suggestion that MeFites indulge the lukemeister by turning this thread into a MetaFilter parody, which suggestion will be alternately frowned upon and eagerly taken up.

Fruitless rant about an only marginally related topic, eventually devolving into a series of increasingly sexually frustrated comments that are roundly chastised, and then deleted by Jessamyn.

Archive.org has a copy of the rescued thread from kineticmuse at archive.org. You were looking at the old archived metafilter wiki. The current metafilter wiki's version of the More Resources page now also includes the archive.org version of the kineticmuse link.

RELEVANT BASH.ORG QUOTE
posted by griphus at 1:42 PM on December 30, 2010

Non sequitur comment invoking an absurd allegiance to a pagan god, and my desire to use some sort of mad science to perform a horrific crime against the world, because said god instructed me to. Through a talking house pet.

A suggestion that this course of action should be the obvious and only logical choice, given the alternatives (of which "not doing it" is never mentioned")

Also: Followed up with an "also:" which is equally random and mostly off topic.

Heartfelt plea that we don't do these anymore since even the first one was pretty much painful and humorless, and everything since is like those guys who quote the same Monty Python jokes over and over and over for their entire lives.

No, really, heartfelt plea.

sick to f***ing death of hipsters -- a long rant ensues !!!!!!

later, it's pointed out that I'm a hipster by my own definition

Disable my account with indignation.

40 days and 40 nights later, I seem to be commenting again. Someone says, "Welcome back," and I put a mark next to their name. Come the revolution ...

Long detailed story presenting an unconventional take on something tangentially related to a comment that was, itself, tangentially related to the original post, but which captures the hearts and/or minds of readers for both its writing style: whimsical yet somehow profound; and its subject matter: an object or experience universal enough for readers to identify with but rare enough to hold their interest.

Follow up comment correcting two typos and clarifying that I'm not well acquainted with the influential person whose name I mentioned in my comment, but that we did maintain a short email correspondence regarding one of his earlier works, and that we occasionally cross paths at functions and on campus and he says "Hi".

Comment that tries to appear participatory and not interrupt the flow but in reality wants to link to a thread on Reddit where users are doing a neat take on this, then wanders off to wonder if this comment should really be posted in this thread at all, and then spends more time thinking about this than was spent on composing the actual post itself goddammit.
