Monthly Book Club Update March 1, 2011 12:59 PM   Subscribe

Have you ever read Toni Morrison's The Bluest Eye? Come discuss it! All you need to do is check out Professor Amy Hungerford's lecture about the book, sign up for Metachat if you haven't already, and then check out the Metachat discussion thread about the book on March 7.

And everything else you may want to know about the MeTa Book Club, now a bit more than half way through the books in the Open Yale Course on the American Novel since 1945, is here.

Wow, looks like ocherdraco and I had overlapping brain waves when we put these posts together. All I need now is a graph of the book club's progress to date.

will there be a reminder thread or something about this on March 7? I'm not sure how the book club works

No, no more reminders for another month, by which time the book club will be on to the next book we are reading. That's to avoid too many annoying book club reminder posts on the gray.

I will send you periodic personal email reminders about what is coming up if you provide me with your email address. You can memail it to me or send it to my gmail address, dabearwife@gmail.com.

As for how book club works, it's easy!
1. Sign up at Metachat if you haven't already.
2. Read the book if you haven't already.
3. Read or listen to or view the Prof. Hungerford lecture.
4. Check Metachat on the discussion date and join the discussion thread!

For lots more info, just click the Metachat wiki link (last one in the post above.)
