Question about what sites must be allowed in noscript in order for metafilter scripts to run, occasioned by an apparent inconsistency.

I have,, and allowed, and blocked. (I don't distrust metafilter and have no problem with allowing everything, this just happened to be my setup when the following happened.)

From the blue front page I tried to add jedicus's "Free, High-Quality Musical Instrument Samples" post as a favorite and that worked fine. I look at my list of favorite posts and there it is. OTOH without changing anything on my end I opened up Potomoc Avenue's post "Fran Lebowitz: Reflections on Austen" and, with the thread open, clicked the [add to favorites] link, at which point I got bumped to So, why the difference?

Do you have completely whitelisted? Or are you picking and choosing which scripts to allow? You might want to just allow everything from and you should be set.

oh, and you should whitelist everything from The front page relies on this script and thread pages rely on this script. It sounds like you might have the thread page script blocked.

It sounds like the page or scripts weren't fully loaded.
