Question about what sites must be allowed in noscript in order for metafilter scripts to run, occasioned by an apparent inconsistency.
I have metafilter.com, mefi.us, and googleapis.com allowed, googleanalytics.com and decknetwork.net blocked. (I don't distrust metafilter and have no problem with allowing everything, this just happened to be my setup when the following happened.)
From the blue front page I tried to add jedicus's "Free, High-Quality Musical Instrument Samples" post as a favorite and that worked fine. I look at my list of favorite posts and there it is. OTOH without changing anything on my end I opened up Potomoc Avenue's post "Fran Lebowitz: Reflections on Austen" and, with the thread open, clicked the [add to favorites] link, at which point I got bumped to http://www.metafilter.com/javascript-required.mefi. So, why the difference?

oh, and you should whitelist everything from metafilter.com. The front page relies on this script and thread pages rely on this script. It sounds like you might have the thread page script blocked.

and favorites requires the googleapi's domain.. (if I have that blocked, I get the "page is still loading" javascript error)

It sounds like the page or scripts weren't fully loaded.
