Glenn Beck isn't a piece of shit ? Then I must defer to the Mods wisdom.
I'm kind of new here, and you know if anyone has any advice on how to frame that post a little bit better, i'm all ears. I just thought Glenn Beck was not exactly a mefi favourite. What other tags could i have used ? and if those tags were inappropriate - shouldnt i have been given the chance to delete them ? Or is simply that anyone who points out mod inconsistencies will be subject to a greater degree of scrutiny in mefi ?

Ha, that's amusing. Threads that are just "let's all have a nice co-hate about something MeFites hate" tend to get deleted no matter who you are. If you wanted to make a post about Glenn Beck's departure from Fox, feel free to do it tomorrow. Might I suggest
- not using the tags piece, of, and shit. Id suggest tags like glennbeck or foxnews or other ones that will allow people to find posts on similar topics if they so choose.
- not editorializing in your thread or tags
- linking to more than one source so it's not a single link news post which are the kind that we often see and delete as "not great for MeFi"

I'm thrilled that Fox dropped Beck, and I'm an avalanche waiting to happen, but it totally spoils the effect when it's predicted in the post itself. Because then, when I do rumble down the mountain scything everything off in my path like a icy razor of... grief? it totally seems like I am just following the crowd, and I'm not like that, I'M A TRILLION SPECIAL AND UNIQUE SNOWFLAKES WAITING TO CRUSH YOU UNEXPECTEDLY.
Anything less diminishes people's terror of making loud noises around me.

Wait, I thought. There's no way that Glenn Beck would have named his production company after this. Oh, but yes, yes, he did.

The post would have been much better if it said more than "I've posted this because I don't like Glenn Beck and I want everyone to know this and agree with me." Also, tags aren't there for you to describe Beck; they exist so you can label your post to be found easily and for others to find similar posts.

sgt.serenity, I don't know much of your user history but you are not coming off very well from this callout. It looks like you are taking a break from the thread and/or MeFi in general, which seems like a smart move.
For what it's worth, I basically agree with the mods as far as this deletion is concerned but I remember favoriting some of your posts and I hope you'll be back once things have cooled off.
