The Septfecta! April 8, 2011 10:50 AM   Subscribe

Completely without meaning to, I posted a post in all of the 7 possible areas of Metafilter this week (except this post which obviously was on purpose). Has anyone done this before? What do I win?

Actually I win: the chance to express my gratitude to this community which has somehow stealthily become active in so many aspects of my life.

Clearly this site means a lot to me, despite my often glib interaction with it, and so I just wanted to say Thanks Mathowie For Making It So Useful and Other Mods for Keeping It So and Users In It For Being Adults Most Of The Time Which Makes This Such a Great Rare Grown-Up Part of the Web.

Cheers!

I first read this, thinking it meant Potomac had accidentally posted the same post to each and every subsite. I was really impressed! I mean, wow! What sort of inebriation/technical problem could lead to that?

Then I went searching for the deleted posts, couldn't find any, and realized my error. I guess, if someone really had accidentally posted the same thing to every section of Mefi, the MeTa post about it would be a lot less shmoopy.

Julia Child's Clafouti
serves 6-8

1 1/4 cups milk
1/3 cup sugar
3 eggs
1 Tablespoon vanilla
1/8 teaspoon salt
1/2 cup flour
3 cups cherries, pitted
1/3 cup sugar
powdered sugar

Preparation

In a blender blend the milk, sugar, eggs, vanilla, salt and flour. Pour a 1/4 inch layer of the batter in a buttered 7 or 8 cup lightly buttered fireproof baking dish. Place in the oven until a film of batter sets in the pan. Remove from the heat and spread the cherries over the batter. Sprinkle on the 1/3 cup of sugar. Pour on the rest of the batter. Bake at 350 degrees for about for about 45 minutes to an hour. The clafouti is done when puffed and brown and and a knife plunged in the center comes out clean. Sprinkle with powdered sugar, serve warm.
