Health Month in June?

Hey, guys, are we still doing this? Because I haven't gotten an email confirming I'm on the team for June.

I know Margaret said she couldn't be the mod this month, and few people offered to step up, but there might be a delay in passing on the baton. You can still do it without a team, too!

Yes, we're still here! I don't know who's in charge, but check your spam folder because I got a notification to stay on the team a couple of days ago. I also have sponsorship chips, so hit me up by memail, Mefits.

I did this for the first time last month, and it was great - would strongly recommend it to anybody on the fence. The site is pretty unintuitive at first, but it's worth sticking it out.

I asked to join the team late on the actual MeFi team wall (and no, there weren't nothing in my spam folder neither) so hopefully that will work out.

Sorry about the weirdness of not labeling the thread, everyone. It was my first time posting to MeTa and didn't know it would do that.

All right, I'll ask the Mefits here: I'm trying to figure out how to sponsor one of our teammates. Can someone who's done it drop me a line and tell me what I'm supposed to be doing? I can't figure out where to sponsor someone other than "through the wall" and Mefit-to-be-Sponsored isn't on the wall.

(Not asking on the game wall because of the problems with spam and the s-word.)

Yeah, is the only way to get sponsored to post on the sponsorship request wall (here), then wait for someone to throw you a chip?

I went with another free game for June, but I wouldn't mind tackling more rules for July if someone wanted to sponsor me.

I think that as with fruit, the user has to request sponsorship (and thus put themself up on the wall) in order for anybody to be able to help.

And on that subject, thanks to saveyoursanity for sponsoring me! I'm looking forward to June (even if there's a voice in the back of my head that keeps saying "14 rules? Are you nuts?")

I just figured out another thing - in order to apply for a sponsorship you have to create your list of rules for the upcoming month (now July). If you don't have rules created, then you won't see the option to apply for membership. Also, it looks like you can only sponsor folks for July now that June has started.

HealthMonth has helped to turn around my sleeping schedule - I used to go to bed at all weird hours of the night/morning, and drag myself out of bed late, scrambling to get to work.

Now I'm in bed at a reasonable hour and when I wake up (earlier) in the AM, I feel vaguely human. Yay HealthMonth!

Yep, I'm with Lucinda. I was surprised to find my bedtime rule is possibly my most effective rule. I now wake up before my alarm goes off on work days sometimes, which I previously considered a logical impossibility!

I’m in (and married to thread-originator Kitteh, so I have an extra element of reinforcement at home: somebody to encourage me to do Health Month, while Health Month encourages me to do... stuff).

Even in the first month, I've already developed an unhealthy habit of "gaming" Health Month: figuring out how many life points I have left instead of just trying to stay at 10, so I can eke it out to the end of the month knowing I'll "respawn" with 10.

The fact that you can re-up for another month, but you have to re-join the team you're already on manually, seems a bit silly. I assumed my team membership would carry over month to month. I guess I'll write the site owner and ask if that could be implemented.

You don't need a sponsor if you're doing three rules or less, right? And I should see if I have chips to share...

Correct. If you are doing three or fewer rules, you can play for free. If you want to do four or more rules, you either pay ($5 a month, or $50 for a year), or get sponsored by someone. People who pay get sponsorship chips (1 chip if they pay for a month, 15 if they pay for a year all at once); each sponsorship chip allows them to sponsor one other person for one month.

(Though I already ruined it because I marked 'Watch Less TV' as a rule, and the Copa America soccer tournament is starting up, and I get Univision, and I want to seriously watch that. And now I can't edit my rules. Guess that one's blown already. Also, go Uruguay!)

Hey guys, I've asked web-goddess to take over for at least this month, but Buster hasn't yet made the change in admin rights from my account to hers. I'm sorry about that--there's a bit of a backup in requests to join the team. I'm going to give web-goddess my login details, so that for the time being, she can just log in as me to deal with admin stuff.
