What happened to WeEndure?
I know it's not a MeFi site, but there is a link to it on the MetaTalk page. It's been dead for a couple days now. Does anyone know or have contact info for the owner/coder?

If you google whois, there are usually websites that provide the service for free. This is the first one I tried that doesn't make you pay.

Handy if you're somewhere without whois/installation permissions.

whois.net also works, but they lock down requests, so if you work someplace that has a singular world facing IP (like all traffic goes through a firewall), then they will limit the requests (to dissuade spammers).
It's a requirement that all domains list that stuff, but then some companies allow you to take that info "private." Often they do this for an additional fee.

I am jealous of the world of internet lookup magic that you have awaiting you.

Yay, it's back! Sorry if this wasn't the right place, and shame on me for not thinking to do a whois lookup. (I was doing whois lookups in, like, 1992. Sheesh.)

also remember that nslookup is deprecated, and you really should be using dig instead.

As the joke ends, "I have been fingering the stewardess for fifteen minutes, and she has not come yet."

Heh, I finally got off my ass and got serious about getting back into race shape this week, and yesterday I tried to register an account at WE. http://www.downforeveryoneorjustme.com/ let me know it wasn't just me.
Anyway, I'm over there now, and it looks a little dead. Hope more people join and help each other stay motivated.
