Awesome -- I bookmarked to read this letter but it was late last night, so I'm glad to have a reminder, and I look forward to the thread as soon as I RTFA.

Side lesson, to all writers, let this be a lesson about the importance of a good pull quote. I was always going to be interested in something that contained in its epilogue the line "as far as I'm concerned, Montezuma has always been a prick"

There are plenty of great lines in the series and I had trouble choosing just one.

Also, 433 posts, and finally the subject of the post joins the discussion. That was nice.

To be fair, some of those 433 don't really count. Although if, for example, Elis Regina had commented on this post from beyond the grave that would have been pretty great.

As far back as I can remember, I always wanted to be a Mefite.

Which raises the question, what would the MeFite faction advantages be? Shower of doughnuts as we enter the Age of GRAR? +1 on all puns?

One day some of the kids from the blogosphere carried my mother's groceries all the way home. You know why? It was outta respect.

It does me at least, and not cause I read that on a bathroom stall in Hoboken.

Er, typo in the post title, hide the grey from the n00b before he asks for his $5 back

10.3.1 The player controlling the Metafilter faction begins the game with Meatbomb already fully built and armed.
10.3.2 Meatbomb will work at 150% efficiency when activated by the player controlling the Metafilter faction.
10.3.3 The player controlling the Metafilter faction is immune to any adverse effects of The Whelk so long as Meatbomb remains in play.
10.3.4 The Righteous Rage of Kattullus lasts for twice as many turns for the Metafilter faction so long as Meatbomb remains in play.

His name isn't Trow? I thought he was a Palin.

Kattullus' poetry "patters and pours like rain on you."

I'm imagining Kattullus as being kind of like Guðbjartur Jónsson now.
