AskMe songs about courage December 15, 2011 4:41 PM   Subscribe

Help me find a particular AskMe about music?

Someone surely has to have asked for a list of songs of courage and determination to help them deal with life's slings and arrows, but I can't find it. Can you help?

Jesus Christ, how can that have been five years ago? What the hell.

No wonder I'm so tired all the time, with the clocks and calendars all conspiring against me.

Thank you b33j for the question and Wolfdog for the link, I could stand to hear some of those songs right about now.

This seems like it would belong until you get to the last line. It suits me a little better when I'm in that mood, though.

I'm flabbergasted that "Prince Charming" by Adam & the Ants (warning: possibly the stupidest music video ever made) isn't on that huge list.

Judges' ruling: are we also suggesting such songs in here, as well as suggesting threads we know of? (Because I got some.)

Oh, I'd like to see more songs, yes, if it's okay to turn this into a pseudo askme, otherwise also happy to post an askme?

then you need the late Stan Rogers' Mary Ellen Carter.
And you, to whom adversity has dealt the final blow
With smiling bastards lying to you everywhere you go
Turn to, and put out all your strength of arm and heart and brain
And like the Mary Ellen Carter, rise again.

Rise again, rise again—though your heart it be broken
Or life about to end.
No matter what you've lost, be it a home, a love, a friend,
Like the Mary Ellen Carter, rise again.
