Poopy link got flushed. April 24, 2012 3:51 PM Subscribe
What was the link to the cat post in this AskMe?
I'm guessing one of the answers to the question got deleted for lack of answering the question, but it contained a link to another thread with a really hilarious answer about why-cats-are-like-that. I was on the go on my phone and when I went back to the thread on my laptop it was gone... anyone know what that link was to? I really wanted to bookmark it for hilarity.

It linked to here. Deleted for being jokey, but yeah, it's funny (but doesn't help answer the question).

Excellent, now we've got one-size-fits-all-but-not-really advice for both cat questions and relationship questions. Throw in "No, don't eat it" and those three answers would cover about 80% of AskMe.

One of them likes to go into the shower after we have had finished. Not for any particular reason. We just turn off the taps and she hops inside the shower and sits there for a while and then comes out. A lot of our energy would be wasted attempting, in vain, to figure out her purpose or motivation in doing so.
I found this mysterious for about 10 seconds when our cat did it. Answer: warmth.

I really wish the answering requirements could be lifted for that question, because I'd really like to chat about that weird thing cats do. I call it The Poop Lament.

Likewise, from the cat's perspective, you hop in there, stay there for a while doing nothing discernible, then come out. She gets into the shower trying to figure out your purpose or motivation, but so far her efforts are in vain.

Это кошка?
нет, это кот.
Recently, unnamed warmongers reported breathlessly, "in yet another first, Russia aims to enter a new cold war, perhaps based on the use of ALSCDDK, or "animatronic-lifelike-semi-autonomous-cute-delivery-drone-koshkas"; just as the US came to enter the era of Big Irony, where some said nothing could melt a persons heart, and others said that everyones hearts were TOO melty; peak cute was unveiled..." and the world proved that the internet makes conspiracy theories about... everything.

The video shows Ksenia, an adorable Scottish Fold cat from Russia. Thousands of viewers on YouTube agree she is the world's cutest cat.posted by infinite intimation at 9:51 PM on April 24, 2012
According to Daily Mail, ksenia first appeared on YouTube in December 2011 but only in the last few days has she caught attention of YouTube viewers. Now she is an Internet star.
But some viewers are expressing doubts that she is a real cat. She looks too good to be true many say. Daily Mail reports some skeptics say she is probably a "hi-tech animatronic toy." Others say she is a CGI technology trick.
Viewers do have good reasons to doubt Ksenia is a real cat. MSN Now comments: "The cat gets progressively weirder, until the camera zooms in on its face at the end, and it looks wired, stoned and like a doll, somehow all at once."

DU: I found this mysterious for about 10 seconds when our cat did it. Answer: warmth.
Ahhh, but your specific answer does not explain why a different cat would, say, get in the shower before it's been turned on and then stay there once it has, carefully licking the water as it spills down his furry sides. (I have a Maine Coon who does this :) Requisite photo can be seen in my profile pic.) Mr. Shower-Loving Maine Coon also dashes out of the shower just before I finish – I assume to escape the towel-facilitated droplet-removal attempts by his resident, showering human – and he trots around the apartment dripping everywhere. He doesn't stay for the humid warmth.
Thus, correct answer: cats do indeed inhabit parallel universes (plural).

Hey, that was my ask, so muchas gracias for todos the answers. I wonder why one of my cats sings the Poop Lament and the other does not. /shrug. Cats are weird.
Or possibly angry.
