9401 not behaving in reverse chron order May 9, 2002 11:23 AM   Subscribe

This is probably not worth much investigation, but I'm curious to know if it's happening to anyone else. When sorting by "my comments", the commented threads are in reverse chronological order, except that one thread (http://www.metafilter.com/mefi/9401) from July 2001 has for some reason sandwiched itself in between December 2001 threads and threads from 2002.

I think it displays in the reverse chronological order of your comments, rather than the date of origination of the thread. So, if I were to go back and comment on say, thread 1 right now, it would appear at the top of my list even though the thread itself is years old.

Does that make sense?

Well, that isn't the answer but you did start me down the right path. My comments (and everyone else's) were from the first week of August, except for the most recent one - which appeared on March 6, 2002. So I guess the ordering system works off of the most recent comment regardless of the original posting date.
