Instagram Web Profiles
So, Instagram now has just rolled out public web profiles: http://instagram.com/your_username_here. Someone has already helpfully added Instagram to the "Can we put this social network on MeFi profile pages, please?" list on the wiki. I wondered, though if maybe people who are interested would also like to link to their profile pages in this thread?
I follow a lot of MeFites on Twitter and other networks, and used to be you could automatically add Twitter friends on Instagram, but you can't anymore. I think it would be convenient and nice to see them all in here.
And those profile pages are very nice.

You all take such beautiful pictures -- it's intimidating.
(not just those already in thread but Metafilter folk in general... though I guess this could be some sort of confirmation bias or something related to those who post their pictures online)

Cool. I've been hoping that Instagram would eventually create a web app of some kind so that I can Instagram photos not taken with my phone. This isn't that, but its a step forward.

Given my recent acceptance of Instagram (I hated the way their filters ruined photos for the past few years, but it wasn't until I saw how a friend used it as a social network instead of just ugly photo filters that I finally "got" it), I support this. I'll crack the whip on pb today.

This is great timing. I got back from holiday just over a week ago where I had been putting occasional photos on instagram the whole way around. Now I can easily share them with my family and maybe try to encourage them to join instagram at the same time.

I just signed up, so I have no photos. instagram.com/zsazsafrazs. I avoided signing up for a long time because I was into old peel-apart Polaroid photography and I thought Instagram (and Hipstamatic before it) was cheating and using it was being a poseur. I've softened considerably on that front after seeing some actual good photos on it.

And filters don't "ruin" photos, any more than Photoshop ruins graphic designs. With all due respect that's ridiculous. They're a tool. Bad photographers ruin photos.

Hey, thanks for this thread. Total heads up for me. I actually stopped using Instagram because of the lack of a profile, despite generally liking the app/service.
