Metafilter's own MiguelCardoso, in his daily column in Portugal's Publico newspaper on the 26th, mentioned pjern and the blue, using the post about the BMJ article on James Bond as his launching point: Proteja o Figado [Portuguese original] -- Google translated version.

The three doctors and authors decided cleavage between good Puritan sense and creative debauchery

Thanks, Google Translate! You're the best!

For those who are curious, "bridged the gap" is probably what Google Translate meant instead of "decided cleavage" for "resolveram a clivagem."

I think Decided Cleavage may be the title of the new Bond film.

Oh, I guess he's not "metafilter's own" then. I mean Friendster won't go around claiming people who don't bother typing in the few letters into their browser and logging in...

Miguel logs in, he reads, he even posts now and then.

He's just not around like he used to be around.

Dunno. Judging from the amount of spam I get from LinkedIn, they think I'm "theirs" and I don't even have an account!

And this is why MetaFilter is not Friendster. While I think a lot of us draw the line someplace north of Woz, Miguel was a very frequent commenter here and is still seen around. We claim him. He is ours and we are his.
