Vancouverites - mefivan? mevan? fivan? meefvan? We need a rapper to give it a cool name.
Stavros had asked about Canada Day weekend and a few of us raised our hands.
What about meeting at the Lennox (corner of Granville and Robson) on June 29th at 6pm? I know someone suggested the Sylvia, but I figure for those coming in from out of town or using transit, the Lennox is a more central meeting place.
Anyone interested?

Ack. I'm working that day from 6pm till midnight. Any other day of the week would have been fine.

Sorry - I've been caught in the DNS vortex the last couple of days.
Much to my deep disappointment, it looks like I won't be making it back to Canada for a visit this summer after all. Would've liked to have met some of you. Ah well, maybe next time.

Canada day??? Haha, good one Salmonberry!!!! You really pulled my leg with that one!!! Thanks for the laughs!!!
I want to thank you personally because I work for a novelty calendar company. We are constantly looking for ridiculous holidays. Canada Day!!! What a laugh!!! As hilarious as that idea is, no one seemed to buy it. As a replacement we've substituted "Mediocrity Day"!!! I understand that you may feel slighted, but Canada Day (snicker!!!) is just not believable. I'm sure that you understand being that Canada and mediocrity are synonyms to most Americans. Thanks again. Please let me know if you dream up any more silly, imaginary holidays.

"Viva la habs"... I think someone was trying to invoke a little St Jean Baptiste day fun and got his languages mixed up.

I can guarantee you that on any given night the Lennox will be pretty busy, which is fine if that's what you want. Around the corner, on Howe and Davie, is a place called Panama Jack's that is usually pretty quiet, has a nice outside patio for the smokers, TV's, pool tables, etc. Anyway, just a suggestion.
Lift one or two for me...
