Sweet Mother of Chupacabra. Why is this discussion not deleted alltogether?

Didn't click the link, don't know what it's about. But you can still see the post in lofi.

It's that e-mail forward about the guy who had dysentery and nausea at the same time in a restaurant. First person, extremely descriptive, somewhat humorous, definitely good riddance.
Lofi. For when you don't want the #006699 to give you away to your boss.

Thanks for clearing that up. But what does lofi stand for, LowFilter? And are all the deleted threads there, or just a mirror of the previous week's activity untouched?

i believe its lofi as in lo-fidelity, like hi-fi, a term which I believe precedes metafilter/mefi. :)

So this may be a stupid question, but if Matt deletes a thread, why does it still show up on lofi?

Because the evil, goateed anti-Matt, who runs lofi, loves those bad threads.

*hehe* you know, somehow it makes complete sense that all the deleted threads should live on in hellfi.

My guess is that the threads aren't really deleted. They just get a deleted flag, and lofi isn't set up to select only threads that have the "this thread is not deleted" flag.

No no no, I think that when a thread is deleted, it lights a fuse that sets off a firecracker that scares a hamster that runs in its wheel and powers a small pump that fills a cup with water and tips the cup over, pouring out over a waterwheel that releases a spring-loaded sharp stick that pokes Skippy who then writes down the thread number on his list of deleted threads. Then, whenever someone requests the front page, Skippy goes through the generated page and edits out any reference to the threads on his list. But he doesn't have time to hand-filter lofi, because he's already working unpaid overtime as is.

Sweet Mother of Chupacabra.
This has got to be my new favourite 'Batman-the-camp-tv-series' style epithet. Thanks.
