just wanted to chime in that making a post is HUGELY intimidating here, and I rarely make an effort to do so
While I'm sure that many here recognize her username, I want to point out what joseph conrad is fully awesome has been doing in case anybody missed it. After jumping into julybywomen with both feet by making a post almost every single day that month, she kept up her momentum by making a post almost every single day in August and then again in September. Sure, she may have rested on her laurels by "only" posting 3/4 of the days in October, but please cut her some slack.
For those not immediately familiar, she has kicked of conversations about, Costco, M*A*S*H, films by women, post-war architecture, how to make the best coffee, Black Books, The Prisoner, women in science, the persistence of email, the 20th anniversary of True Lies, the existential nature of burritos, the practical nature of burritos, women in gaming, more women in gaming, Nicki Minaj and what to read when pressed for time. She's even posted about acting the goat.
I think that she's done an outstanding job around here over the past 4 months and deserves to be called out for it.

Wow I just about lost it when I saw this - was watching "Talking Dead" when my husband mentioned "You're going to sh*t yourself when you see this Meta thread..." Had to finish the show but WOW what a compliment.

And considering one of the other MetaStars, flt, was one of the first to add a "huzzah", you are truly in the top eschalon here (a higher status than I ever reached in mumblemumble years, some of which when I was actually trying). Whenever I would check to see who my nearest MeFites were, I'd see her name and think "I wonder who that is with the awesome username?" (I also like "We had a deal, Kyle")

OMG, Ms. Awesome truly is awesome and was so nice to me during the julybywomen project when I was just figuring out how to make a post and not throw up. And she even convinced me that Joseph Conrad truly is awesome if you just give him a chance, but I don't know when I'll be reading Joseph Conrad as I have this backlog of jcifa posts to get through.

I've also had the good fortune to be seeing the username 'joseph conrad is fully awesome' on the regular, mostly through her participation on FanFare of late. (Not just curating series, but also contributing to lots of other discussions! And favoriting comments!)

I totally forgot about this but after jcifa made the post-war architecture post I sent her a MeMail about a cool little-known housing tract in West L.A. that I'd been meaning to post about for years and suggested she might be interested in it and she was like lol nice try you should do it and I did so she is literally an inspiration.

I was just thinking fondly of July By Women earlier today - how it not only made Metafilter a distinct flavor of awesome that month (for it is always base-flavored awesome, just different spices crop up as time comes and goes), but the project also made ME think more about how I, as a lady person, interact with the site.
And so huzzah to JCIFA, for contributing such great material! Happy early birthday, fellow East Bay-er!

Yes joseph conrad is fully awesome is so, so great! Not only does she make fantastic FPPs but she is also such a pleasant and thoughtful community member -- I don't know how many people follow her "Flagged as Fantastic" account on Twitter (@MeFite_) but it's another really, really positive way she engages with the community by highlighting the stuff she likes. In an internet filled with negativity and jerkiness, she does an amazing job both focusing on the good stuff and sharing that in a way that makes other people feel good too. Yay!

I have had some recent interactions with joesph conrad is fully awesome and can confirm that "fully awesome" is an accurate description. I would also add "intelligent", "thoughtful", "kind", "considerate", and "wonderful" to the list.
