How can someone so clever be such a Bad Detective April 16, 2015 8:34 AM   Subscribe

Congratulations to Zaximus, creator of Bad Detectives and winner (!!!) of Tabletop Deathmatch!

A good number of Chicago MeFites have had the chance to play Bad Detectives throughout its development and know how genius and amazing the game is, so we could not possibly be prouder.

If you'd like to follow along with the creative process, you can read Zach's game blog here.

YASSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS

It's even better than it is on video. Zach really nailed the overhaul of the graphic design and it's infinitely easier to just pull off the shelf and play.

Absolutely. I've been talking it up to my regular game day buddies for a while now and AM READY TO BUY MY COPY NOW.

It really is fun and it's been terribly interesting talking to Zax about the process of creating it and changing it. So exciting to play through some of the changes and so exciting to see him win!

I haven't played it since before the cards had images, so I am dyyying so see where it is now.

Also, I keep wanting to post a Futurama SHUT UP AND TAKE MY MONEY pic to show my excitement, but that would be awkward in this context.

Congrats!

I wish this series had a camera with a top-down angle so we could see the cards as they are played.

I don't even like board games, and I got to play test a later incarnation of this and had so much fun! What's great about it is that if you're really into strategy and competitiveness, it can be that. But if you're not (like me) you can have a lot of fun just telling a story based on your cards and how you play them.

I cried when I watched the video, and share McMikeNamara's so-proud-I'm-not-mad-about-the-secret.

Congratulations!

How do I get this game? I'm in Australia and have a terrible prime minister, diabolical foreign policy, rotten domestic policy and police that often leave a lot to be desired. Hope me. How does a poor antipodean avail themselves of this quality distraction?

That game does look awesome!

Now, normally, when a game is "2 to X players", it really is intended for X and requires some weird special rules, if you want to play it with just 2 players. But, I'm not seeing anything in the rules, for Bad Detective, that makes it seem like that. Anyone able to confirm? Does the game work well with just 2 people?

Congrats! This going to be at GenCon for wider play this year?
