Pony: Videogame category/threads in Fanfare February 24, 2019 6:25 PM Subscribe
Title says it all. I'd love for fanfare to have official support for videogame threads. It has at least one club for them (Narrative Games) but the discoverability is so bad that I had to look for a thread I knew existed and work backwards. An official sidebar category would really help with that problem.

I don't know what the writers were thinking dragging out that plot line where no I blocks were showing up though, it just started to seem like they were trolling. Spoilers I guess but the ending was terrible, just a whole bunch of random stuff out of nowhere and then roll credits. Anyway I'm going to watch it fifty more times before I go to sleep.

They are good beans. Steamy and warm, with just the right amount of sauce. They appear to be cooling quickly while you think, though.

It's definitely on the list for when we're in a position to add new media types, yeah.
I know ya'll have been thinking about changes to be made to Fanfare, is this something you'd add on once the changes are in place? Or is it something that can happen concurrently? And when will we know more about the future of Fanfare?

I don't wanna be a pony rustler, but is there any reason why music isn't a part of fanfare? I always figured people would like a place to talk about their favorite new stuff.

I mean it does have something of an advantage of usually being listenable immediately without a big time commitment as opposed to a lot of the other media, so conversation would be easier. Or is that something that makes it better for the blue?

FWIW there is some of this on Mefight Club, though regretfully in recent years I visit there even less often than I play videogames, i.e., almost never (those days of playing TF2 with y'all in the BSH era were super fun). However I do think videogames would be a good fit for FanFare and so I direct my Medi Gun on this pony.

I'd love this too, I am super excited to talk to people about The Division 2. I only started playing the first game like two weeks ago, because it was five bucks at the game shop, and man, I am loving this thing.

There are many places on the internet already to discuss video games.
And they are almost uniformly terrible. I would welcome this addition to Fanfare.

I think the music subsite more like projects (but musical) rather than a category to discuss new musical releases.

AAA has been fully eaten by the Live Services monster, alas, and there aren't many high-profile AA/B publishers out there other than Devolver, who mostly do action games, and Paradox, who mostly do strategy games.
The narrative games are out there, but they're definitely harder to find than they used to be.

I'd absolutely love to see these! I'm especially excited about multi-player games like Stardew Valley and MMOs. Or I will be when I get a computer to run them that isn't ten years old.
