How to access Politics Slack October 3, 2020 1:01 PM Subscribe
What it says on the tin. Am trying to access the unofficial, not actually affiliated with MetaFilter Politics slack. Have emailed the person linked in the MeFi wiki about the issue but haven't heard back. Can anyone let me know?

In the mean time if you need someone to scream at you and end an argument with "whatever, I have healthcare" I can do that for you until you get in there.

Could Politicsfilter Slack be added to the Social Apps - Also On : choices in profiles?
Historically, AlsoOn has required a publicly available profile page, which I think Slacks don’t have.

I wonder if it is time to revisit our politics filter expectations as we approach the election Event Horizon and time is spaghettified, as the Trump Covid thread does seem like it's heading in a megathreadwardly direction, and I'm not expecting the quantity of absurd news to do anything other than accelerate. This is not a request for the return of megathread!

I was thinking it's been a while since we've seen a bunch of nodding heads go on about the best way to mitigate the evil of the Democrats (Supreme Court? What's that?).
Seriously, after the fiasco of the debate threads, I recommend that Metafilter never do another election politics thread. It's a waste of time and moderator attention.
