Much deserved and entirely above suspicions of blogrolling. MetaFilter is a wonderful weblog and these sort of mainstream recommendations should be welcome, rather than sneered at. Congratulations are due to Matt for keeping MeFi from becoming many marginal weblogs tied together by chance and turning it into the link-based, conversational community weblog it set out to be. It really is an honour. With a "U", even!

I have just gotten off the hotline, and Canada approves of the use of the 'u', Miguel.

But M. Chretien did mention to me before he got off the line that he feels strongly that the 'weblog' concept is tired and played-out already, and in his amusingly-accented vernacular intimated that he expects increasing anti-weblog backlash in times ahead...

Queen's English. Of course we support the use of the "U". We may be American Junior, but we're different, eh!

Congrats to Gaelfc for her really fab Pop Culture Junk Mail - it deserves lots and lots of kudos. I like her chatty and intimate style and the weblog has so much staying power - a true classic, like MetaFilter. Sorry for not including links; I'm doing this at work and I feel horribly guilty but every time I want to say anything here anymore someone else has already beaten me to it. I heart Morning News, too.

Damn, I can't decide whether I feel worse about posting from work, or about not including links. *wrestles somewhat annoying but hopefully easily ignored inner demons*

We're kinda pegged, there, based on our demographics from two years ago, aren't we?

Good job Matt, as this is worthy news.

I'll second that, but MSNBC should have bothered to mention that she works for them, too. She's just not as high profile as the on-air folks with blogs.

What are these "blogs" they keep referring to?

Wait -- these "blogs", they vibrate?
