Spookyfilter!

Remember kids, when accepting ponies from strangers, be sure to examine it carefully before you eat it, because it could be injected with ecstasy (Or as I like to call it, "Flavor") like a big yummy hallucinogenic pinata.

Sheeit, you get ecstasy injected into your candy? All I ever get is candy with rat poison or Pabst Blue Ribbon injected into it. Lucky bastard!

Here's another handy tip for the kids: Remember, the amount of fun derived from eating a piece of candy is inversely proportional to the size of the candy. Sure, you have your "regular"-sized Snickers bar, but there's also "fun-sized" Snickers! And, if you're really adventurous, you can get the ten-molecule "HOLY SHIT CAN YOU BELIEVE HOW MUCH FUN WE'RE HAVING"-sized Snickers bars!

Poisoned Halloween candy? Undetermined, but no child is known to have been killed by Halloween poisonings or razor blade/pins/needles pranks.

I always poison my Hallowe'en candy. Thinnin' out the herd, baby. Thinnin' out the herd.

Sorry to hijack this tread, but I'm curious what everyones favorite horror movie is? I'm partial to the original House on Haunted Hill, since I use to watch it as a kid, way back before Jason and Freddie became slasher icons. Oh, and the Wax Museum with Vincent Price was also a favorite.

The Haunting and The Tingler for classics, Ginger Snaps and Ringu for modern.

Oh, and The Wicker Man, but I'm not convinced that's horror.

Oh, and The Wicker Man, but I'm not convinced that's horror.

The little diddy sung by Britt Ekland is pretty horrific, that's for sure.

I tend towards the Italian stuff I saw as a kid, which turned out to be Mario Bava and Dario Argento. But nothing is scarier than reality: Requiem for a Dream and Bastard Out Of Carolina are two of the most frightening films I've seen, even if they're not "horror flicks."

I like the user review in the link:

A fine performance from Manning as pregnant trash talking pregnant trailer trash.

Redundant much much?

Definately Wicker Man. I think there is nothing more horrific than the expression on the cops face when he finally realizes how the end will play out.

Battlefield Earth. The horror that it was ever greenlighted in the first place.

P.S., I'm Crazy Hand-Coming-Out-of-the-Neck Guy! Now, give me some candy! Don't you think I deserve some for being this crazy?!

The Thing. Most (visually) disturbing film I've ever seen.

Alternately, the Alien series, though 3 was fairly lame and Alien: Resurrection was more of a sci-fi comedy than a horror flick.

the original night of the living dead *shiver* i was terrified of finding zombies in every corner for at least a year after seeing that movie for the first time and it still bothers me that ben doesn't get away in the end. and there was this really horrible karen black film (is there any other kind of karen black film...?) with this homicidal little totem thing which she tried to kill by putting in the oven...trilogy of terror i think it was. horror movies usually have zero effect on me but these 2 put the creep on, big time...!

the original night of the living dead *shiver*

Me too, but I was too embarrassed to admit that I paid to see it (at the drive-in, no less). It's not so bad when someone else comes out first.

I'm curious what everyones favorite horror movie is?
For some reason, on each of the four occasions I have seen The Relic I was, um, let's say medicated, and therefore convinced that it is the scariest, valve-poppingly tense, "Look Behind You!!" movie of all time. It probably isn't.
My vote also for Wicker Man. Must-see stuff.

Hasn't this same thread been on the 'filter twice in the past two days?

That said, I second john_son. I was too young to remember most of the movie version, but mombi's heads remain one of the freakiest images I've ever seen.

Large Marge scared the living sh*t out of me as a kid. I never watched that movie again.

And I second all the comments about Return to Oz. I think the directors of these movies hated children.
