the ColdFusion finger February 11, 2003 10:10 AM   Subscribe

Weird. I can access MeFi just fine through status.metafilter.com or metatalk.metafilter.com, but www.metafilter.com has only been giving me the ColdFusion finger for a few days.

Maybe it would be a good idea to add an "If you are posting to Bugs, please clear your cookies and log back in first" to the MeTa post page? It just seems like there are an awful lot of problems posted that are solved by deleting cookies.

Ignoring something squiffy with the browser (as sometimes it does happen) it might be a good idea to fix the root of the problem - or code defensivily so that dodgy cookies don't prevent the user from viewing the page.
