Someone nicked my nick {more inside}

in Meta thread 3000# at 1:20a.m. feb. 11, someone used my nick...so someone has my pass word and i am very unhappy. I suspect someone and felt I should aire this rather then e-mail matt. the pirated comment was "first post" which is silly enough...still this is a problem.

clavdius: that was edydamascene playing with CSS as far as I can see, not password theft. I believe he was riffing on your "last word" earlier in the thread.

Forgive my spelling, eddydamascene.

Yeah, it's fake. Look at the color of the text for the date.

You can tell if you view the source of the page, because he has used two line breaks, instead of closing the div container.

If the colour doesn't do it, look at the url that the time links to. It's the same as the post above it.

Doh! Also he's using <small> rather than <span class="smallcopy">.

I'm calling my patron...so he can tell me he can't really do anything. ok...good joke...the comment was harmless and the skills used i respect. bricka-braka.

Satire is the highest form of compliment (next to identity theft. Err, maybe.)

clavdivs is inimitable anyway.

Damn, I just noticed I mispelled clavdivs as well. Oh, the unintended irony. Apologies all round.

Here's the post in question. Who did you suspect, clavdivs?

I know the chances of being told are slim to none, but nothing ventured, nothing gained.

as long as it was a 'legal' joke, i am all the happier. edydamscence is whom i suspected Icon i...but the folks here and mIRC explained it to me. As long as no harm is done to the password system, there is none, I'm just alittle red faced....like my password would not be hard to crack....touche' EDS.

mIRC would never explain things to me. so i switched to trillian.

So just what is your password, clavdivs?

I know the chances of being told are slim to none, but nothing ventured, nothing gained.

I kid. Aw don't be embarrassed, clavdivs. A lot of people don't know that silly little posting trick. And it is silly.
