When is this better on AskMe? December 22, 2003 7:38 PM   Subscribe

For curiosity's sake, when does a post like this become something to be shifted to Ask Metafilter? [more inside]

The addition of many links makes it interesting to read. But it's really just asking for other's experiences, letting the poster decide if he'd like that birth path. So I'm asking for some rule of thumb. Anyone?

How do you get that it is asking for others' experiences? It's a basic (iow, classic, standard, routine, etc.) Google-collection-of-topical-links FPP.

"...are seriously considering water birth for the future. Are there any MeFites who have done this?"

That was in the comment, not the post.

This post is phrased in the form of a question, perhaps it's more appropriate for AskMetaFilter?

What good would that do?

Hmm, is the beginning of AskMeFilter?

Mischief, as the post says [more inside] I would assume the first comment is part of the post. But as you're determined to poke me in the eye on this, fine. The post is question free, and I'm a horrible goober for asking to keep from making a future mistake. Shall the spanking be over the knee or against the wall?

How about underwater?

Your confession is sufficient. Next?

I thought about making it an AxMe question, but decided that the main point of posting it was to inform about waterbirth. It was something I didn't know a lot about before I started researching and wanted to share. The question of personal experience was secondary and I thought I'd rather put it in the blue than start another thread in the green.

The existence of ask.mefi doesn't mean for a moment that mefi posts can't contain a question. A question in the mefi post for the sake of it is generally frowned upon, I believe, but if the post points to something of interest, then I think mefi is the place for it. That said, I haven't checked out the links in that post.
