USA Meetups? March 13, 2004 9:05 PM   Subscribe

Meetup frenzy!
Well maybe. Tied in with this AskMeFi post I'm in the US for a couple of months from Easter weekend. LA to NYC via all sorts. Following on from amberglow's recent US to EU meetup anyone up for a reverse anywhere along the way? OK, it's not like you're getting a Miguel or anyone famous but international meetups are surely the way forward. I could even go for eyeballkid's supposed meetup record.

I know the NYC posse can deliver - 27 May to 1 June guys? - but not sure about anyone else.

When will you be on the Left Coast, Du-ude?
I'll set up the L.A. stop on the "i_cola Blue" Tour...

to follow up on the Ask Me thread, i_c, I'll get Uncle Fester and whatever other Missouri Mefites I can to at least take you down to the best goddamn fried chicken joint you'll *ever* eat at. If you come to St. Louis, of course.

copycat! (but i'm envious of the cross-country trip) ; >

icola and sgt--it'll be an historic NY meetup! How about we pick a place that has both bar and restaurant this time? Those of us that are lushes can lush, and others can sit and eat or frolic or whatever?

I second jonson's suggestion for a westside LA meetup if possible.

Excellent stuff...and sgt too...

In LA I'm staying in Marina del Ray &/or W Hollywood altho' I'm waiting on a definite on that.

notsnot: Damn...it looks like we're hading further south...the Big Bend, TX to Tallahassee option got taken up. I was in St L in '97 tho'...I loved the arch. (I'm a fish-eating veggie tho' so no chooks for me!)

Migs: There's still time for the Lisbon Euro '04 meetup ;-)

amberglow: I'm cool with being told where to go & when & as long as there's a non-meat option. (oo-er!)

i_cola, are you going to be in Southern Utah on a weekend? Would anyone be interested in a meetup in the Moab/Arches or Zion's/St. George area?

I'm sure we could roust up the Dallas crew should you find yourself down here on your way across the country. :)

I think you'll find your non-meat options will be limited along the IH10 corridor from San Antonio to New Orleans, my friend.

That said, we'll happily steam up some crawfish for you if you happen to go through the glamourous Golden Triangle (Beaumont: east of Houston, west of the Louisiana border.)

EMP if that sounds like an option.

weston:yes. We're doing a loop coming in on Route 50 NV-UT-Moab & the going down to the Grand Ganyon-Vegas & back thru UT & onto Monarch Pass, CO.

Probably arriving in Moab area for the first time w/end April 24th.

TX stuff is still in 'planning stage' but as I've heard a lot about crawfish but never had one, I feel obliged to try ;-)

Anyone fancy sorting out the MeFi Wiki to track all this? *grovel*
