preferences set to 3 days view, still see 7

As per Matt's request, I changed my preferences to load only the last three days' links on the front page. But it still loads a full week's worth. Any idea what's up? I'm happy to help reduce the load on the server but this makes it difficult. :-)

I had the same problem while using Opera 5. Once I tried resetting it in IE 5.5 it worked fine.

I'm using IE 5.0 for Mac and have the same problem.

I'm also using IE5 for Mac. The strange thing is that when I go back to the preferences, it does remember my previous setting, but it's not actually active.

i had to log out before it worked. and it didn't remember my profile on two different machines (which makes sense) so make sure to change there as well.

i'm guessing its related to setting your browser cookies (where all the mefi settings are stored)

try
1) logging out and back in again, or
2) restarting your browser, then 1)
3) deleting your metafilter cookies, then 1)
