Matt's working on ticketstub June 4, 2001 11:08 PM   Subscribe

Yes, I'm working on it. Here's a mockup of the front page as it might appear, and I'm coding the guts of the site this week. Once things are up and ready for content, I'm sure the front page will change. It's a bit too sparse at the top, and I don't know if the mockup design lends itself well to revists, it looks too first-time-visitor to me.

But I'm working on it.

wow, this is actually kind of neat. i never looked at the thread before, but i have this bizarre habit of hanging onto many of my ticket stubs from concerts and movies, so i actually could contribute...

Yeah, I've got a stack of stubs from theatre, movies and music about 6 inches tall that dates back about 12 years. I'd certainly love to contribute.

I don't know if I share your concerns about repeat visitors, Matt. But by all means, continue to fiddle.

I feel bad.

I recently had this thought:

"Well Matt, you don't have a job so WTF is holding up the Ticketstub site?"

I do find it a bit fucked up that Matt is having a hard time finding work with all his mad programming skills when I have been banging my overspecialized in VR head against the job market.

In adversity, may we find strength.

After a search and finding nothing, could someone please tell me what the ticketstub project is? From the mock-up, it looks like a Metafilter site devoted to entertainment. Or is it litterally about ticket stubs....???

Yes, it is literally about ticket stubs. Scans and stories submitted by readers about their ticketstubs and the accompanying events. Make sure you have currently showing ... all dates selected in the ticketstub project area of MetaTalk and you can read much more about it.

Any thoughts about getting a sponsorship from Ticketmaster, seeing as how many times their logo will end up on the site anyway?

Matt, I wish I had known about this just a year ago, when we bought our new house. I finally let go of 30 years worth of ticket stubs. I have the memories (well most of them, I was stoned for much of the 70's) but not the tickets. Oh, well such is life.

Waiting with baited breath for the site to go up. Last night gave me an absolutely amazing concert experience that I wouldn't be able to forget if I tried.

I'm so ready to see the site go live since I've been sort of a jerk to Matt about how long it's taken. But now that it's almost here, I'm giddy with anticipation.

Cool idea Mat - now there's a virtual space for all my tickets
