Banned IP ranges get you redirected to June 26, 2001 6:45 AM   Subscribe

This past week I've tried to access metafilter from a public library computer and an internet cafe computer, but each time I've gotten redirected to Very strange - from my PC at work it's fine. I live in France.

If you connect from an IP range that's been banned, you get redirected to Plastic. We talked about it here somewhere.

Didn't really solve your problem, though, did it? I'd suggest emailing Matt.

Alternative answer: Jane, you've got to get me over there. This looks like it needs a service call.

Hey, that happened to me too. And it happened today while in a Kinko's. I am now connecting from a shell account via telnet.

What's the origin of this? Is this something Matt configured? Why Plastic, and not somewhere else?
