I recall a while back someone posted a sort of biography of another MeFi member using information gleaned from that person's comments and posts. Anyone remember that/have a link?

Tamim did that several times, as I recall.

That thread was my most embarassing newbie mistake. Sorry again, tcs.

I have been toying with doing a MeTa call-out on tamim's whereabouts and possibly issuing a challenge to all mefites in finding out what we can about each other through what we have revealed in-thread (probly not a good idea, since I think jessamyn recently had a bad go with something similar against her), a la tamim. Damn he was good at researching and collating! Anybody know where he's been?

Speaking of tamim, I still remember this, from four years ago. The dude's insane.

Holy ... I was mentioned in tamim's thomcatspike commentary? Wow. Had no idea ...

It really has been a long time--his last post to a thread in MetaFilter was here and this is his last MetaTalk comment.

A choice between Bill O'Reilly vs Al Franken on one hand and Steve Den Beste Is A Big Pouty Butt on the other--and from there, new mystery in McWetboy's contribution to the SDBIAPB:

The only people I'm actually glade are gone are the people who were banned from this place (apropos of which I note that 2611 has been axed).

member since: December 16, 2000
fbagbulos has posted no links to MetaFilter
and no threads and no comments to MetaTalk
and no questions and no answers to Ask MetaFilter

If fbagbulos was the banninated party to whom mcwetboy refers, what happened ? Or does mcwetboy refer to someone else ? Anybody know ?

How can you tell they're banned? If they are, isn't it more likely their login and password were the same? Matt said he axed all accounts like that after the login incident.

I was not clear in quoting the linked above comment by McWetboy made on September 25, 2003 in regards to the Den Beste Swan Song from afar topic of that thread, which was the last MetaTalk thread in which Tamim made a comment--a comment otherwise quite unrelated to McW's then:

At the same time, I am uncomfortable with the "I'm-glad-he's-gone" comments in this thread. The only people I'm actually glade are gone are the people who were banned from this place (apropos of which I note that 2611 has been axed)...

Now pay attention--it was a derail prompted by something in a comment made by McWetboy in the last MetaTalk thread in which Tamim last participated. All this was in 2003, well before the login incident. What I was idly wondering about was the 2611 part, as to the who, what, when and why of this 2611, what, if any story was there. It did not ring a bell.

Good Lord, I hope Tamim is still around. He's king of kings.

y2karl, I'm guessing that he's referring to MataTalk thread 2611, which has been axed and which would have been just 19 thread earlier than the one in which he made that comment.

Too bad we don't have a MetaTalk lofi so we could see what the thread was.

Got it! 2611 was part of the neu meltdown.

God, the neu thing was funny. I wish it were still around.

neu was practically stalking matt and he deleted all of that crap. he/she/it was posting on other websites about him and generally acting like a complete and total freak.

If we're going to stalk Tamim, please recognize the prior art in the area. I don't even want to think about how much time I spent on that.

As more than a few folks would undoubtedly plead:

Come back, tamim...but please don't write a bio on me!

I am alive and well. I regularly skim the front page and, time permitting, occasionally read a thread. You guys humble me with your comments in this thread. I am deeply touched.
