Could the [!]s be silver and underlined like the keywords? March 2, 2005 5:15 PM   Subscribe

Could the [!]s be silver and underlined like the keywords? They yank my eye from the last sentence of every, frickin', comment.

Maybe it's just me, but I think they make detail pages harder to read. Not that they don't represent terrific added functionality!

ah, good point. I have other text there after the timestamp, so I didn't notice this detracting from the text there. Lemme fix it.

Wow. That was fast.

This has been a visual bother for me since day one, and I am angrily demanding that something be done—what? Oh. Awesome.

I didn't fix it yet.

Ok, should be fixed now.

Oh, better!

This had been bothering me too since it's inception. Thanks Matt!

Ok, I may be crazy but what's changed? We're talking about the ! flag this comment link, right? It's looks exactly the same to me.

How odd, on preview, [!] has disappeared for me completely. I'm going to check my meds, I'll brb.

The exclamation point is now gray instead of yellow, Jim Jones. Also, it disappears during the posting/preview process.

Thanks, Matt. It's much better, esp. if minimizing lame call-outs is one of your goals.

Thanks mediareport. Wow, I guess I never really noticed it was yellow. Odd.

Um, it's still yellow in the blue....

Word is bond, nic. Thank you for pointing it out. Please fix it in all three flavors.

what about this - [ ! ] , with an added space before and after the "!".

Lovely. Thank you!

Actually, could you put the <a> around all three [!] characters? Now that the whole thing is a single color, I think it should act like a single object.
posted by majick at 9:11 PM on March 2, 2005

It's not a single color though, the brackets are white.

Er, I don't know where that came from. Ignore me.

I have other text there after the timestamp...

Ooh, that's piqued my interest. Are we allowed to know what? The mind boggles!
