Is there some sort of "Winer exception" to the Mefi Prime Directive? I sure hope not...

I was wondering the same thing.

Dave's done this before (2 or 3 times), and hasn't learned yet. It's half a self post, since he linked to the new yorker thing, and it's a saturday so I'm letting him skate. Normally I'd ax it in a second, but I think this one is harmless. I've given him truckloads of grief in the past for things he has said and done (I don't reget any of it), but this doesn't come off as kooky as the stuff he normally does.

What about celebrity self posts (n.b. I'm not sure if Hue and Cry made it in the U.S.).

p.s. if they didn't then at least Holgate will get it.

I think it should go, if only because it won't lead to much discussion of anything except of the fact that it's a self-post...

Yeah, he linked to the Times editorial, but he doesn't say anything about it to start a discussion; the post then has three links to different pages on his site...

Blatant self-post.

Woo, the quintessential minor 80s popstar turned new media commentator graces us with his presence. Who needs John Perry Barlow?

Who is Pat Kane again? The name tickles my memory but doesn't quite make it laugh...

Speaking, sorta, of self-links, this userid amuses me all to hell, even though it's naughty.

The userid is a self-link in itself, which is why I believe it's funny.

Well, OK, not a knee-slapper, but mildly amusing....

I don't get it either...

I used to rehearse in his studios in Glasgow years ago. (Mr. Kane's that is.)
