Insulting Comments on Minority Beliefs

I'm not sure if this is the right way to go about this, but I wanted to express that I'm pretty shocked at this thread on Etsy banning Wiccan items going on right now. [more inside]

FPP's celebrating every judge's ruling on SameSexMarriage are NewsFilter

I had a comment deleted calling the recent Florida decision a weak FPP. I'm happy to have the mods quote my comment, it included the word 'circlejerk'. I contacted the mods and was told "You are welcome to skip threads you aren't interested in". That's.....not cool. [more inside]

Bad Delete: Justfacts presentation

I understand the post was removed for the reason that it seemed likely to start fights. However, I'm not sure this post calling the banners for BDS activity against Israel, or this post attacking the Daily Express, or this I-hate-the-rich post wouldn't also qualify. What is the standard for what makes a post contentious, and is the standard lower for minority-view postings? [more inside]

metaask

I asked a question and many of the responses were that I am "biased." Is a judgement of character a prerequisite for answering a question?

US-centric MeFi bias

I just know I'm going to get beaten up for this comment, but a lot of FPPs seem to assume that the audience is entirely American, or at least North American. The level of unthinking parochialism seems to have increased recently (or maybe it's just me). The Guidelines are silent as far as I can tell on whether MeFi has a particular cultural focus or bias, is there or should there be a policy on this?

Did not, did too, did not, did too (selective quoting)

Steve_at_Linnwood selectively quotes a Washington Post story, is called on it, then denies it. This is a lie.

Biased reading of article?

READ THE FUCKING ARTICLE.

Some people are letting their politics get away with them. And it's not like they're a newly minted user either.

What's up with that?
