Fanfare posts showing as deleted but aren't
There are posts in Fanfare showing as deleted, but there is no deletion reason showing, and if I click on them they are open for comments. Currently, Two-Lane Blacktop, Horror Club: Calvaire, and Shut Up And Drive show as deleted (from the top few posts.) Firfefox 44.0, Ubuntu latest version. (I have clicked for community input to see if anyone else has this issue on other browsers and OS's.)
Are the 'deleted' blogs defunct?
The (as far as I know, unofficial) blogs for deleted MetaFilter posts and deleted AskMetafilter posts do not seem to get updated lately. Is something broken, or is something else going on? Does anyone know?
"Deleted Post" Script not working - just me?
I've been happily using Plutor's "Deleted Posts" script in Chrome (v. 29.0.1547.76) on my Mac Airbook, but yesterday it stopped working. It was fine on Sunday, and I haven't updated Chrome or the script. I've tried uninstalling/reinstalling the script, and confirming that I'm using the latest one (according to userscripts.org I am).
Is anyone else having this problem, or am I simply cursed?
Deleted post question. Was OP banned?
I have the greasemonkey script that allows me to see deleted posts, and I saw that this post was deleted. [more inside]
Greasemonkey hacks
Grease my monkey, guvnor: Greasemonkey scripts get talked about a lot in Metatalk comments, and they seem pretty useful. I would like to ask our more Greasemonkey-oriented friends to recommend the best ones and discuss their experience of installing and using them. [more inside]
Hey! What happened to that post I was about to comment on?
I was about to comment on a post earlier tonight about the state of the mental health care system in Louisiana, and before I could comment, the post was deleted. It seemed like a decent enough post with a number of links and I thought it probably would've engendered a good discussion. It disappeared so quickly, I couldn't even catch the reason it was deleted. [more inside]
Deleted Questions
I don't think posters on the green should be able to have their questions deleted just because they are done with them or don't like the answers they are receiving. [more inside]
I liked the Waffle House post.
Greasemonkey deleted posts scipt
Is anyone else have problems with the Deleted Posts Greasemonkey script? It has stopped working at home (osx 10.4) and at work (ubuntu). [more inside]
Disappeared into the Blue
Atlantis post vanished from the Blue? I'm running the Deleted Posts script, and I can see other deleted posts, but this one seems to have just disappeared. [more inside]
Is that thread in a clear Zip-Loc bag?
If you're going to delete a post because the subject is already being discussed in another thread, at least help people find that thread. [more inside]
Deletion at the poster's request
Last night this post was deleted at the poster's request. It seems from the context within the post that the poster probably requested deletion because the discussion wasn't going the way he imagined it would. Something about asking to have a post deleted for that reason rubs me the wrong way. [more inside]
Moron or idiot, you decide.
racist: doubleplusgood word.

Why doesnt Deleted Posts show up?
No Deleted Posts Script? It doesnt seem to be working for me (Firefox 3.5, Windows Vista)
How Can You Tell It's a Self-Link?
How do the admins determine that a fpp is a self-link? [more inside]
Deleted post or no?
I posted an AskMefi question yesterday but now it's gone. So how do i know whether it's been officially deleted or not? I went to My Profile; under 'Contributions', I clicked on the 'questions' (number 40) and brought up the questions I've asked. The one i posted yesterday is not on the list.
I also did the search: http://www.metafilter.com/activity/29435/posts/ask/ as suggested in the FAQ and also came up blank.
However, when i go to the 'new question' page on AskMefi, it says i've posted in the last week. I know for sure that I haven't posted anything in the last week other than the question i posted yesterday.
I'm ok with deletion, but it would be nice to know the reason for future reference.
Was this FPP really THAT Farkish?
Get me out of there
Just want to register my opposition to the new Public Shaming Initiative that requires deleted posts to remain on the front page with a weird bit of text beneath them.
Standards.
While I understand that this was a "stunt post", why are some threads deleted and others are simply closed to new comments? [more inside]
Thread deleted, missing or imagined?
Yesterday there was a thread about by someone suspecting an apartment scam, it seemed to be a reasonable question but this morning it seems to be gone? [more inside]
Looking for Map Posting
Earlier today, there was a posting about geographical knowledge, with links to an online series of tests. The posting seems to have disappeared. I can't find it in the archives or through a site search. Can someone point me to the link or the site with the tests? I'm having no luck finding the one I want through Google. Thanks.
Deleted post blog
By semi-popular request, I present to you: Metafilter: The Deleted.
Why was this post deleted?
Why was this post deleted? The asker seemed like he had a legitimate question, and some interesting answers were surfacing.
Deleted threads
A dozen or so youtube and video links a day of blog churn? Just fine.
Three SSRN links in two days to thoughtful and academic writing that are new and interesting and that most users have never seen before? Deleted.

MetaFilter going down the pans
Theory: The recent influx of Crap on Metafilter may not necessarily be related to the recent influx of Noobs (like myself). Perhaps it is just because the internet has become just as mainstream as the other popular media. Therefore it is just full of crap.
Why'd you delete my post?
"This post was deleted for the following reason: I am r00t. ph34r m3 luz3r. you're p0st suxx0rs. you R 0wnzered." I know I'm new to metafilter, but since when is there an 31337 club you have to be in to post to teh front page? I thought that was a mondo excellent link and I think you do the metafiller community a gr8 disservice by d3l33ting it.
Preventing reposts of deleted stories
This dangling baby . . . it vibrates? Every time Matt kills a "Jacko's dangling baby" post, another pops up to replace it. We've talked about this before, but I think the (general) question needs to be raised: What, if anything, can be done to prevent reposting deleted stories? It's been pointed out that posters may not know that they're posting something that has been deleted before because, um, it's been deleted before! (And with wacky news like this, there can be any number of sources for the same story, sorry.) Short of deleting the story every time it pops up, is there a better solution?
Why was my post deleted?
I'm confused. I posted what I thought was a typical interesting link, but I guess it didn't pass muster, since it was dumped. What gives?
(I linked to it from my K5 diary. Now I have cleanup there to do.)

Is there some sort of official policy regarding deleting posts?
Is there some sort of official policy regarding deleting posts? I didn't even know it was done until mine was deleted yesterday.
Island of Bad Posts?
I just noticed another insanely long no-link post was pulled this morning. It might be useful to have a Island of Bad Posts archive where stuff that gets pulled is anonymized and listed along with a 25 word description of why it was pulled. This page could be linked to the register page for new users so they can learn through negative example as well as learning by positive example just by reading the site. Plus I'm sure a lot of us are just curious about what's getting pulled....
