For the first time, I just had another user block my private messages after a polite but heated exchange where I guess they just really wanted the last word. I'm not like offended, but I had never noticed the option to block private messages before, and was wondering what the rationale is there. If someone is spamming or harassing another user, that seems like something that could be resolved through the mods. Is this something that has always been there, and do people use it all the time and I'm just out of the loop?

I was in my local public library today and wanted to look up a thread about Paris that I'd seen in Ask Metafilter, so I got on one of the library's computers. I was surprised to find that the library blocks Ask MeFi. How common is this? How can I get the library to unblock it?

Websense is blocking the tag pages of MeFi. The message I get is "The Websense category "Sex" is filtered." - even when the tag isn't likely to have anything to do with sex (e.g., christmasmusic, maps). Yet I can read threads that definitely DO contain sexual content, such as this one or this one. Is there something in the backend telling Websense that tags = sex? [more inside]
