On the green, where it would normally say "New Question", I'm getting "New Question (0)". Feature? Bug? Indication of something I didn't know about the site?

Yesterday when I visited MeFi for the first time, I got "no links and no comments posted since your last visit." I figured it was some momentary glitch. But the same thing happened today, so I'm wondering if anybody else has this problem. When I go to MetaTalk and AskMe, it has the correct number of new posts/comments. (Firefox 2.0.0.11 on Windows XP.)

Upon refreshing the home page, I noticed that MeFi has "Connection Timeout members". Searching the archives makes it seem like I may be unique in seeing this minor bug.

Whenver I log in, the "new" replies in a post are always incorrect when you are at the main page. You know, (42 posts 2 new). Is this something common? If it is, can it be easily fixed?

The AskMe archive pages never seem to show a new comment count for any thread. Is this a planned feature, something that will be changed when the new software rev is posted, or my imagination?

I don't know about you, but I'm curious. The membercount has been hovering at 14000 for the last week (?) or so, and just this evening went to 14001. Strange that the profile for user 14001 says "member since: March 15, 2002." Is there an interesting story here, or do I just need another hobby?
