MetaTalk

I know that *lots* of MeFites live in areas that are currently under threat, and some of you likely have already had to evacuate. I wanted to create a space for folks to check in, share stories, grieve together, perhaps offer crash space to evacuees, and just commiserate about the latest shovelful of shit that 2020 has dumped on our heads.

California people check in, please. My sister and nephew live in Chico, but they evacuated. The pictures of Oakland looked smoky--I can't imagine what it's like trying to breathe in Chico!

Not sure where else to put this but I wanted to reach out to my fellow San Diego MeFites now that there are 9 fires around the county. Everybody okay? I'm between the Poinsettia and Bernardo fires and while I appear to be in a safe zone, my coworkers and friends are not since they're so much closer to the points of origin for each blaze. :(

Watching the news on the hell in California and having been left in suspense by a recent thread on the topic, I am concerned about many of our MeFi members....y6y6y6, batgirlHG, rschram & many others.
